With 25 years and counting on the "other side of the glass" as a copywriter/producer responsible for hundreds of TV and radio spots, Bruce Abels is a voice actor uniquely attuned to what a director/producer wants—from interpreting specs and scripts to taking direction. His specialties include commercial, narration, promo and corporate imaging.
Notable voice work includes promos for the DIY Network series Alaska Off The Grid, plus TV/radio spots and web/corporate films for Breckenridge Ski Resort, Denver Botanic Gardens, Dish Network, Eli Lily, Gaiam, GolfTec, L’Oreal, Mercedes-Benz, Tokyo 2020, Vodafone and many others. He also voiced the trailer for the feature-length documentary Tattoo Nation: Black & Gray LA, narrated an interactive museum kiosk about the Cold War and overdubbed English for a mob character in Italian indie feature, Santo y Miguel.
A native of a small town in the mountains of southwestern Pennsylvania, Abels came to Colorado for the 1980 ski season—with plans to continue west to find fame and fortune in LA—and never left. When not working, you’ll find him still skiing the bumps, as well as trying to make par, reeling in a fish, biking with a tailwind, attending concerts, playing the blues, reading, or simply enjoying his family and friends.
